Perfection is Overrated

2018-03-11T05:22:29+00:00February 27th, 2015|Categories: Creativity, Internet Marketing, Personal Brand, Social Media|Tags: , , |

The weekend is almost here and I’m finding it hard to concentrate and focus, so these are my last parting thoughts as I enter into my weekend.

Since 2008

I discovered Seth Godin and Web 2.0 way back in 2008 right smack in the middle of “My Economic Crisis”. At that moment in time I committed myself to learn about this InterWeb thing and I soon discovered the AWESOME ability to Publish InterWeb Content VERY Quickly = I Loved It!

Well, if you’re like me, we don’t always hit on ALL Cylinders all the time, and if you’re a Perfectionist (reformed) like me, this can be problematic and ego-defeating on top of everything else that’s going poorly = sound familiar? Proof = it was pointed out to me by a trusted colleague Bob Nunn, Esquire Extraordinaire that about 1 in 10 of my ideas is a good one… and… I’m happy with that. As I can often be heard saying “I have many more failures than successes”, but that’s another story.

I’m saved

I think it took me about 3 years before I finally “Got It”: after a couple of years reading the motivational words from Seth Godin and others along the way, it finally clicked = I got that I was supposed to get my thoughts out there quickly and not write the Perfect Novel with the Perfect word choices = I hope I don’t embarrass myself (internal voice) = Who Cares!

  1. Be Quick to Create (see Creative Confidence)
  2. Publish the Darn Thing = Like NOW! The words from Godin and Kawaski (The Art of Social Media) are talking to me
  3. Push it to Social Media = Broadcast it to Others and Share What you Believe (Simon Sinek)

So, as our commitment to you, we will share with you our tips and efficient process that we have been inspired to do from these Thought Leaders who have influenced all of us at Ronin Studios.

With our help you will overcome obstacles that may be blocking you from success
We will help you avoid “Paralysis by Analysis”
= Get off your Butt and go Create something! It Doesn’t have to be perfect

If there’s something you’d like us to write about or answer for you via blog post, just drop us a line and let us know = happy to do it for you = Cheers!

AGH! I needed to hear this! This post my friend is an absolute confirmation of the internal arguments I’ve had with myself about loosing dynamite ideas, concepts and motivations because I lied to myself and said = oh, I’ll write this or that idea down later or I’m too busy to blog my thoughts…… etc, etc, !!!!

No more! I believe the creator gives you gifts in the form of clear revelations with the expectation that you’ll be a conduit to get that particular truth into the world. “Lord, forgive me for my laziness!”
