Thank you WordCamp Portland Organizers, Volunteers, Speakers & Sponsors
Last Saturday I went to my second WordCamp Portland since 2009 — a lot has happened since then…Good things.
Grateful
I APPRECIATE ALL the Hours of dedicated hard work from the generous volunteers who make WordCamp a Success — Thank you! I appreciate ALL your hard work and Thoughtfulness for the Benefit of “Others”.
Why I Went
I wanted to meet other Folks who “Get It” — The Internet Marketing; Collaboration Thing
I’m so tired and frustrated with folks who FAKE that they “Get It”. I’m tired of watching disingenuous people nods their heads in agreement to my “Words” like they understand what I’m saying, but they aren’t listening; they just want to take advantage of my generosity and grab a selfish opportunity, so I thought I’d grab a $20 Opportunity and listen first to those who are supposed to know and “Get It” and go from there — I’m hopeful so far; after all, it doesn’t take “Rocket Surgery”.
Who am I meeting with so far
1. Ed Bisquera: Ed has “Chops” in more ways than one
The first time I saw Ed he was tinkling the “Ivories” in an impressive way (you got Mom’s approval) at a fundraising gig my brother Blake Sakamoto created for the Minidoka Swing Band a few weeks ago. When I saw Ed on stage at WordCamp I Tweeted my brother who confirmed “Yep” that’s “Ed Bisquera” — the rest is history, we’re crackin’ open some Lobsters and hopefully some new ideas to pursue about “Digital Marketing” tomorrow evening — Stay tuned.
2. Ariel Rule: Social Media Manager at Duda | Startup, Web, and Email Copywriter
I was impressed when I heard Ariel Rule speak during my first session on Saturday. She has a smiling personality that encourages all to “Get Going” — I like her energy and her message as a Young-Mother juggling to make successes — We’ve connected on LinkedIn and I’m looking forward to learning more about Ariel soon = Stay tuned for more…
3. Luria Petrucci: “Authentic” Video Host & CEO at Geeks Life
Luria Petrucci’s story resonated with me because we ALL go through our own unique set of process and discoveries along the way to Content Creation for the Internet that’s “Real & Relevant” for each of us… plus she has a subtle and unique Texas accent that I’ve only heard from one other person and I want to know … Where and What part of Texas did you come from Luria?
Luria and I have checked in with each other on Twitter and I hope to meet in person soon to discover come common collaborative ground = Cheers!
4. Kronda Adair: “Karvel Digital: WordPress Consultancy & Development
Impressive Kronda. Apologies for not reaching out to you sooner, I didn’t have an opportunity last Saturday. I just sent you a LinkedIn request to connect.
Kronda Adair’s message resonated with me because I’ve been exploring alternative Business Models that promote “Affordable” Website and Marketing Solutions for Small Business Owners. I’ve tested and documented my assumptions several times over the past few years trying to find a workable solution = Let’s talk @KarvelDigital
I’ll be contacting you soon for a mind-meld = Cheers!
